By using the Site you agree to these terms and our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
Water Register reorganizes publicly available government records and user-submitted market posts. It is not legal advice, engineering advice, hydrologic modelling, or regulatory advice. Transfer approval rests with Alberta Environment and Protected Areas or the Alberta Energy Regulator. Verify each licence in the Environmental Records Viewer before you rely on it or file an application.
Licence rows are derived from Alberta open data licensed under the Open Government Licence – Alberta. Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Alberta. See Data sources for dataset links and update cadence.
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Alberta. Data may lag the monthly government export. Coordinates and locations may be approximate.
Listings are user intent posts, not offers from Water Register. We moderate posts before publication but do not verify every claim, escrow funds, negotiate transfers, or guarantee regulatory approval. Contact details collected for moderation are not shown on the public board unless you choose to include them in the listing text.
If you post a listing you represent that the post is made in good faith, that you have authority to seek or offer allocation as described, and that the information is not knowingly false or misleading. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display moderated listing content on the Site. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your listing content or misuse of the board.
Sold entries are researched from public sources unless marked otherwise. An ERV verified label means Water Register confirmed selected fields in ERV on the date shown. It is not a government certification. Use sold cases for context only.
Pro ($79 CAD per month) and Featured listing ($249 CAD per 60 days) fees are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in the Stripe billing portal or by contacting us. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise.
Refunds: Monthly Pro fees are non-refundable once the billing period has started. If you cancel, access continues until the end of the paid period. Featured listing fees are non-refundable once the listing has been featured. Contact us if a duplicate charge or technical error occurred.
Pro CSV export is for your internal professional use. You may not resell or republish bulk exports as a competing dataset without independent rights to the underlying government data and compliance with the Open Government Licence.
You may not scrape the Site in a way that impairs service, attempt unauthorized access, misrepresent affiliation with government, or use the Site for unlawful purposes. Automated access to government source files should follow the terms on open.alberta.ca.
The Site and all data are provided as is without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Government source data is also provided without warranty under the Open Government Licence.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on Site content, missed transfers, regulatory decisions, or third-party listing claims. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Courts in Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
We may update these terms. Continued use after the posted date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
